FRAME OF MIND!

Oh yeah, baby!! The framing has begun! After a tearful goodbye to Ethan, Elizabeth, Alex, and Natalie, I drove to Woodbridge to see what stage of construction we were at. This was a glorious sight to behold! I got there around 4 p.m. and the crew was still hard at work. They had almost the entire main floor framing done, and they had just started that morning. All of the wood comes to them pre-cut from a factory somewhere nearby. So, they don't have to spend all of their time cutting every last piece. This was the first time that I had been there while crews were working, so I put on my brightest smile and started waving at anyone who saw me. Since Skyler is at work during the day, the workers will have to suffer through seeing this smiling face everyday.

This is a view looking into the garage. To the right of that will be our front door.

View of the front door, with the crew hard at work!

This is looking straight through the garage. Directly behind the garage will be our office, and behind that will be our family room. You can catch a little glimpse of what our view will be like from the back of the house.

This is the side of the house where our formal living room and formal dining room will be.

Here's the entrance to the basement. Above (from left to right) will be the dining room window, window above the sink, back patio door, and two windows in the family room.

This is the front of the house, with all of the construction materials covering what will be a nice front yard.

This is the final side of the house. We have only one window on this side of the house (in the office) on the main level. It actually works out really well since it is the side that is fairly close to our neighbor.

So there you have it! Phase one of framing is complete, and we can't wait for phase two!!
