We had such a fabulous week with my sister and her family! They decided several months ago to make their family vacation a trip to D.C.! It was so wonderful having them spend a week with us, and getting to do so many fun things together. We miss them already and can't wait for their return trip!!
On Saturday we spent a fun day visiting several of the monuments. We took this opportunity to get lots of great pictures with all of us together. This is a picture of me with Alex and Natalie. Natalie is a very independent 2 1/2 year old who loves to do very grown up things like push the stroller all by herself. These are two precious kids!!
Later that night we went to see the Washington Nationals take on the Chicago Cubs. We had a great time, and the Cubs won! Here's Ethan, Elizabeth, Natalie, and Alex before the game started. You can tell who we were cheering for!
Today was Alex's lucky day! He is a huge fan of George Washington, and that's exactly who we saw when we first walked into the stadium.
Natalie was happy as a clam during the game! She loved cheering for the Cubbies, but I think she liked eating her peanuts even more. Elizabeth probably set a world record for the number of shells she had to crack open throughout the course of the night. :)
On Sunday we drove to Luray Caverns, which is in the Shenandoah Valley. They had the most amazing stalactites and stalagmites we had ever seen. In this picture you can see everyone with their headphones on. They had self-guided tours with narration for the adults and special narration for the kids. This was by far the coolest cavern we have ever visited!
Here are Uncle Skyler and Alex making their way through the winding paths of the caverns.
